Hope Today Magazine: What inspired your collection?
Alexandra Miranda: All of my travels. The collection is inspired St. Bart’s and Marrakesh. I wanted to infuse the two places. There is Moroccan influence seen throughout the collection.
Hope Today Magazine: What is the theme of your collection?
Alexandra Miranda: There is an exotic feel. I was inspired by my love for the beach. This inspiration is shown through my pieces. My clutches are Bohemian chic. Women love clutches and I wanted to give a different element to a staple piece.
Hope Today Magazine: How does your collection influence the current trends?
Alexandra Miranda: For the summer there is a lot of color, very tropical. There is some animal print as well.
Hope Today Magazine: What are your favorite pieces?
Alexandra Miranda: I love the St. Bart’s collection. The Anna Maria is a beautiful clutch. There is also the signature piece- the Abanico clutch which is really nice. The clutch has great art deco style.
Hope Today Magazine: What are your current favorite fashion trends?
Alexandra Miranda: I love the Spring/Summer lines. The caftans and cover ups made of silk are beautiful. I love dresses and big necklaces. The whole harem jumpsuit lines are really nice.
Hope Today Magazine: What collection are you working on at this time?
Alexandra Miranda: Summer 2011 is going to be very colorful. I have metal pieces on clutches that will make a very bold statement.
Hope Today Magazine: How would you like to see expansion within your fashions?
Alexandra Miranda: I would like to begin to design clothing for not just women but children as well.
